Savaş Dursun

Savaş Dursun has been passionate about fishing since 1995, dedicating 29 years to the art of angling. For Savaş, fishing is more than just a hobby; it’s a lifestyle. His journey began with catching his first fish during a summer vacation in Marmaris, which led to countless fishing adventures in the Kocaeli Gulf and, later, during his military academy years in the waters around Istanbul's islands and Tuzla. As a Coast Guard officer, he spent time in the Samsun region from 2011 to 2014, after which he settled in Antalya, where he became an expert in Mediterranean fish species.

While his expertise lies in saltwater fishing, Savaş also has considerable experience in freshwater species such as pike, bass, trout, and various endemic freshwater species. Over the past decade, he has focused intensively on Mediterranean species and, for the last seven years, on Bluefin tuna fishing. His specialties include using artificial lures for light to heavy spinning and big game fishing with live bait from a boat. Savaş is one of the pioneers in introducing and teaching the LRF (Light Rock Fishing) technique in Turkey, which he began practicing in 2009. He has set several records across various fishing categories, including catching 10 kg fish with ultra-light gear and a 41 kg amberjack using the Tai Rubber technique. The largest fish he has caught with vertical jigging is a 70 kg Yellowfin tuna, and his personal best with popping is a 62 kg Yellowfin tuna. Currently, he operates two charter boats in Antalya’s Konyaaltı and another charter boat in İzmir Seferihisar during the tuna season. Among all fishing techniques, casting into surface boils excites him the most, making it his favorite style of fishing.
